This traditional terracotta thumb pot waterer would make a wonderful gift and a much loved addition to the potting shed.
Ideal for waterting seedlings and delicate plants, the design goes back to Greek and Roman times.
Just submerge the thumb waterer into your water butt or bucket and, once full, cover the hole on the top using your thumb and lift out of the water.
Take your thumb off of the hole to let the fine spray of water flow out of the tiny holes in the base and gently quench the thirst of those tender first shoots.
By placing your thumb back over the hole you can stop the flow until you move on to the next pot
